Your roof installation in Florence can be an overwhelming decision, but hopefully, by asking these few questions, you can narrow down the type of roof your home needs. See a couple of frequently asked questions below.
Are the materials eco-friendly?
Supporting the environment may significantly affect your decision between roofing materials. Composite asphalt shingles are often recycled after removal to make pavement. Metal roofs are typically made of 50-90% recycled material and can be recycled again after use. We manufacture all metal in-house, so if eco-friendly solutions are what you need, we can help!
How much does it cost?
Your individual installation cost depends on the size of your home, the material you choose, and the removal of your previous roof. Shingles are often the most affordable option but have a shorter lifespan. Metal roofs may be a more significant investment, but they can last two to three times longer.
Will it get damaged during severe weather?
Alabama is no stranger to tornados and hail that can be detrimental to your home. Any roof has the potential to get damaged during a severe storm. However, some metal roofs can withstand winds up to 140 mph, unlike other roofing options.
What is the lifespan?

The Roof Installation Process
You may be unsure of the exact process of installing a new roof and have questions about timelines or how much this will disrupt your daily routine.
We plan to answer these questions by outlining the process below:
- Removal: Removing the old roofing is the first step. You can layer roofing materials on top of each other to save time and money in the short term but adding too many layers can lead to premature failure.
- Inspection: After removing the old materials, we will evaluate the sheathing and structural supports for damaged or wet areas. This is an essential step, so we know your roof’s foundation is strong.
- Installing the drip edge and underlayment: The lower part of the drip edge is installed before the underlayment to create an ice and water barrier. This prevents water from running off the edge of your siding and back underneath it. Underlayment can be felt paper or synthetic and is water resistant to protect the sheathing of your roof.
- Installation: Finally, your roof is prepared for the last step, installing your chosen roofing material. This entire process takes about a day to three days, depending on the size of your home.
